Privacy policy
Policy revision: 2026-10-08.1
Last updated October 8, 2026.
Who handles your information
Spacenda provides private shared calendars for adults in the United States. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@spacenda.com.
Information used by the app
- Account information: display name, email address, email-verification status, account timestamps, and a salted password hash. The app does not store your password in plain text.
- Registration confirmations: your confirmation that you are at least 18 and reside in the United States, the versions of the terms and privacy policy you reviewed, and when you accepted the terms and acknowledged the privacy policy. We do not collect a birth date or device location for these confirmations.
- Shared calendar information: Space names and settings, memberships and roles, invitations and recipient email addresses, event titles and details you enter, dates and times, recurrence rules, reminder settings, attendance responses, and event comments.
- Authentication and security records: session and code hashes, expiration times, failed-attempt and resend counters, and temporary abuse-prevention information derived from IP addresses and email addresses.
- Notification information: registered push tokens, device/platform identifiers, and reminder delivery status when you enable notifications.
- Subscription information: store purchase references or tokens, product identifiers, account binding, verified status, and expiration. Apple or Google processes payment; Spacenda does not collect card numbers.
- Support messages: information you choose to send by email and correspondence needed to handle your request.
- Deletion and enforcement records: minimal account, Space, invitation or comment identifiers, request dates, replacement ownership identifiers and enforcement reason categories kept separately to prevent a database restore from undoing a deletion or suspension. These records do not contain your email, password, verification codes or calendar content.
How information is used
Information is used to create and secure accounts, verify email, recover passwords, manage Spaces and invitations, display shared calendars, deliver enabled reminders, verify Premium access, respond to support requests, and process account deletion. Spacenda does not include advertising or send calendar content to AI services.
What other members see
Space members can see information shared in that Space, including its calendar, member names, event details, attendance, and comments, subject to their access permissions. Spaces are not public by default. Share only information you intend the members to see. Members can independently copy information they can access.
Service providers
We use service providers to host the service, store its data, and deliver account and support email. They process information needed to perform those functions.
When enabled, push notifications pass through Expo and the relevant Apple or Google notification service. Spacenda’s push messages use generic reminder text and event/Space identifiers, rather than event titles or descriptions. Apple and Google also process app downloads and purchases, and receive information needed to verify their subscriptions. These providers handle their own records under their respective policies.
The marketing website
The website is a static public site. It does not connect to your account, read your calendar, or use account cookies. It includes no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or third-party embedded content. Hosting necessarily processes network requests, including IP addresses. We do not enable routine website access logs; operational logs may still record service errors. Following store links takes you to the relevant store, which has its own privacy practices. The website does not change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals because it does not perform cross-site tracking.
Security and retention
We use encrypted connections, access controls, hashed passwords and authentication codes, and restricted access to credentials to protect information. These safeguards do not eliminate every security risk.
We retain account and calendar information while your account remains active to provide the app’s functionality. This includes historical events and information in saved or locked Spaces. It is removed when you delete it through supported app controls or delete your account, subject to the shared-content rules below.
Expired sessions and authentication-code records are cleaned up periodically, after any code resend-rate window has ended. Backend operational logs are pruned after 30 days. Our support schedule removes correspondence 12 months after a request is resolved. Retention of host diagnostic records and backup copies varies by provider and record type; there is no single expiration period for all provider copies.
Minimal deletion records are retained until backups that could contain the affected data have expired or been destroyed, plus a short safety margin. Enforcement records remain while the enforcement decision applies. These restricted records prevent older backups from restoring removed accounts or comments, or reinstating suspended accounts.
Your choices and deletion
You can edit supported account/calendar fields, control device notification permissions, manage store subscriptions, and delete your account. See account deletion for the complete process.
Account deletion removes live account records and associated data, including your authored events and comments in other people’s Spaces. You must first transfer owned Spaces with other members. Sole-member owned Spaces are deleted. Other members’ events remain in retained Spaces. Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately.
Deletion from the live database does not automatically erase existing backups, store/provider records, or copies other members hold. Before restoring service from a database backup, we reapply recorded deletions and enforcement decisions.
Contact support for access, correction, or deletion requests not available in the app. Identity verification may be needed to protect your account. Applicable privacy rights vary by state and circumstances. We will handle requests according to the law that applies to them.
Adults only and United States launch
Spacenda accounts are for people aged 18 or older in the United States. The service is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect account information directly from people under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account, contact support so we can investigate and remove an ineligible account and its associated information.
An adult’s calendar entries may describe other people, including children. The account age rule does not prevent this. Share only the details needed for your plans and information you have permission to share.
Policy updates
We will update this page and its effective date when this policy changes. For material changes, we will email active, verified accounts at their account email address. Where applicable law requires consent, a notice alone does not replace that requirement.
